It's a parents job and fair right to brag about their child, correct?
If not, too bad. I love him.

I think he's a genius. At least at some things. Everywhere we go, people are always amazed at how smart and advanced he is. One lady said to him as we left the grocery store, "See you on TV next time!"
I wouldn't know any different unless I compared him to other kids his age. And some kids I've met can count to maybe 10. Some don't even know the ABC song at all. One could only put 2 to 3 words together in a sentence.
We read books to him and help him along, but as one lady said to me, "You must work with him all the time!" Not really. He just sort of picks things up on his own.

Now, I am not in any way saying he is better than any other child, or we should become "cocky" about him at all. I merely think he is going to be smarter than me any day now, and it frightens me! Also, so I can have some sort of record to remember this time.... at 27 monts old.

Here's kindof a rundown of what he can do. (probably more than I even know too.)
*Sings the ABC song many times a day.
*Knows all the letters in order, or out of order.
*Recognizes any number or letter upside down, sideways, or even backwards (when they are on the other side of a window for example.)
*Knows all the sounds the letters make.
*Knows what letter everyone's name starts with (people he knows)
*Puts letters together to make 3 letter words.
*Recognizes many words, and says them. "stop" "big" "Dad" etc.
*Counts to 100 in order, and can keep going if he feels like it. (mostly when he is on the swing at the park!)
*Recognizes every number no matter where it is. (grocery store line, jerseys, license plates.)
*Puts two numbers together and switches them. ("this is 46... and 64!")
*Flips them upside down...like 6 is a 9, and also W is an M.
***breath***
*Knows all colors
*Knows all shapes (except the weird ones that we havent told him. Trapazoid...)
*Knows animals
*Any CD I put on, he knows what songs goes with what number. Creepy.
("Mommy! Number 9! Ants Go Marching! Number 10! Muffin Man!")
He knows which song is coming next, sings along with the song, tells me when to skip certain songs. He can do this with at least 10 CD's. I can't even do that.
*Puts many words together.
*His mind is so creative. He sees objects in other things. Like a chunk of mishapen plastic is a Kitty, and a tree branch is a number.
***my brain hurts. Im sure there are other things that shock me every day. But that is enough to think about for now. Question: What am I supposed to do when he has a plan to take over the world with Numbers and Letters!?

Just joking of course. Little smartie pants. I just adore him.

So yeah I missed August. Life is crazy, my to do list grows instead of shrinks, and I am trying to enjoy the important things in life more than things that wont even matter in 10 years, or later this week even. But here I am finally. I decided a few things would be fun to share.
Oh, by the way, Potty Training is out the window...
He wants nothing to do with it in the least. I am actually fine with that! I would much rather change a billion diapers then fight him with it. Way too exhasting.

Potty Training Begins!!

Here we go!!
I have a 4 day weekend this week, so I decided we've put it off long enough. Here is Bam in his new Elmo underwear! He thinks it's a blast! This morning we dropped the poo poo from his diaper into the big potty and flushed it. Then I said that we were going to try underwear and gave him his very own little potty chair.
So far he wont even sit on it. He fights me when I try to make him sit. He wont even sit on top of it when it's closed!
So while Im sitting here doing this blog, we had our first accident!!! All over the couch! I knew because my pants started getting wet. No...I didnt have the accident. I am fully trained. But it leaked onto me while he sat next to me. So I ran him to the potty chair, and he still didnt want to sit down. But he was surprised how wet the couch was and his undies.
So I tell him we are going to go try again in 10 mintues. (figure I'll start there!)
He has a sticker chart for every time he goes potty on the potty chair. and if he fills the whole thing up, he gets a new toy!
So the adventure begins. We'll see.

Things I Love!

No it's not Valentine's Day. But I want to share things that I love so much about life. It helps me realize how much I have. and that "Love is a Gift"!

* Banick running to me with a huge grin and laugh ("Mommys here!") when I pick him up from Sunday school class
* Walking through my house and remembering that it's mine
* Banick's funny things he says. His view of the world is so darling and it is so great to watch him discover it.
* Date Night with Aaron. Makes me remember how great our love and conversations are.
* A sparkling clean anything.
* Vacation of any kind, but especially seeing somewhere new. Drives out of town, too.
* Good friends who are easy to talk to and fun to be around
* Singing songs of praise and worship to my Savior.
* Aaron coming home from work and chasing Banick around the house and doing somersalts.
* Banick singing any song. Especially when he meows to the words!!
(no wait, that is Aaron...I guess it's both of them!)
* A day where, at the end, I have accomplished at least something worthwhile
* When I slow down and enjoy the moment I am in with my son and / or husband
* Banick's absolutely contagious grin.
* Preparing a meal that impresses Aaron. or that Banick actually eats.
* Finishing a home-made craft project of any kind (a rarity), or a piece of art
* Decorating the house
* Creating a unique type cake for anyone. But mostly people I know and love.
* Having family around and playing games or just talking and laughing
* Laughing! A good, uncontrollable laughing session.(usually when Im exhausted)
* When the creation around me suddenly causes me to stand in awe of our Lord.
The moon or a sunset never fails to do this.
* Remembering the "real life" romance I still have after almost 10 years, and how blessed I am to live in it everyday.

I know I of course didnt hit everything I love, but these are a few I can think of right now. Life is beautiful, people. Not easy, not perfect, not without trials, and lessons to be learned. But so so beautiful. Look around. Enjoy it.

Our cooler in our new house doesnt work. It was quite old, and "Maguivered". Meaning: parts of it were held together with old socks, and the bottom had tar put all in it.
Long story short- our house has been 90 degrees for two weeks. The cooler guys couldn't come put a new one in for two weeks because of how busy they were in the season. So we slept downstairs a couple nights, we slept at my parents house a couple nights, and we bought someone's old used window cooler to see if that would help. We have wonderful friends, and our friend Bryan came over with his brother to help Aaron build this box for our window. Tacky? much. Especially since it's on the front of our house. But it did help for those very hot evenings. Thanks Bryan!

But finally!! The day has arrived and the cooler guys came! Here lies the remains of the dead....

They fixed us up with a brand spankin new one! and oh is it lovely...
Our house is a comfy 70 degrees, and it even uses a thermostat so it turns on when it thinks it should. (yes it "thinks".That is how smart it is.)
Needless to say, we are quite thankful for the cool air.

Baby Boy turns 2!!

Our little boy is growing so fast! He is tall and knows so many words and songs. He knows all the ABC's in order, all numbers in order, and starting to say what all the letters sound like! He sings cute little songs all the time, and is so darn sweet.
He is starting to throw huge tantrums though, which is exciting....and I'm not really looking forward to potty training time.
But we had a fun little 2nd birthday party at our new house with a few friends and family. He loved it! He blew out the candle about 12 times, to get the idea. He was overstimulated by all the gifts and people, and devoured about 3 cupcakes.
(just the icing!)
I love my little man. These two years+ have been such an amazing blessing.
He becomes more of my friend every day. He adores his Daddy so so much, and is the joy of our lives. Thank you Lord.

We are enjoying our new home. We've been here officially one month. We have only met two sets of neighbors so far, but we are working on that. Aaron mowed our lawn for the first time last night with our new mower! Banick thought it was fun. He brought Daddy a drink of water half way thru.
The hard part is wanting to buy tons of things right away. We just need to do it slowly....
We are so grateful that nothing has broken or anything so far. I'm so excited to paint the kitchen. The issue with that is that Aaron enjoyes the current very Peach color that is on the walls in there. i cant stand it. But he said i can still paint over it! :)
Banick has been going to swimming lessons twice a week. He likes it pretty well. he doesnt really like going under much yet, and he cant stand being chilly when we get out! But he loves the other kids and the games we play.
We are very blessed. Thank you Lord.

Halloween 09!!

We threw a Halloween Party this year, and it was a spooky blast. It is sure to be a tradition! Vampire Liquid (Tomato Soup), and bone breadsticks, severed toes, and eyeballs...delicious.
Aaron was the "Fairy Godfather", complete with a Bedazzled Tommy Gun, and Banick was the most darling Garden Knome to ever exist, (when he kept his hat on), and Robyn was a giraffe. (yes, a giraffe. My work was a zoo, so I had to fit in...)
It was so fun Trick or Treating with Banick. We went around a little shopping square in our neighborhood. By the end, Banick got the idea that people would let you have a colorful prize out of their bowl when you came into their store. He loved it! He just chewed on the wrappers...

First Trip to Vernal!

We went to Dada's home town for a visit. Banick was running on the big Trampoline at Grandpa and Grandma Inabnit's house and of course tripped and fell right into the springs. Head First. Something there cut his head open (hence the bandaid)and we were worried he would need stiches. He didn't, thank the Lord, but he may have a bad scar. It was a good trip though!

8 Wonderful Years!

Aaron and I have been married now for 8 years! It went by so very fast, and yet it feels like we have known each other for our whole lives.
Though we have had our share of challenges, we are meant for each other. He is the rain and sunshine to my flowers, and the joy to my every morning.
I love him more now than I ever have. His uncondtional love is stunning to me. He has seen me at my worst and still lets me know he only has eyes for me.
I love his energy, how he changes every song to be about cats somehow, how he chases Banick all over the house, how Hot he is, I love how he thoughful he is with gifts for me, and how he brings a towel to the park just in case he has to change a dirty diaper, I love how he holds my hand, how he doesnt care about us being trendy/perfect, and how he eats anything I make. He is my very Best Friend, a wonderful Dada, and my everything.
Thank you for 8 Great Years, Batman. I love you.

We went to Thanksgiving Point to their Farm Country. There were bunnies, sheeps, and many other animals to play with. But Banick's favorite was this Baby Cow. It kept trying to lick him with it's rough tongue, and Banick was laughing his head off! He was inches from his face! It was the cutest thing ever.

We went to Joy's house and played in her little pool. His favorite thing is to stand up and walk around. But that proves to be dangerous when you fall alot and swallow a gallon of water! He loved splashing around, and later trying to escape to the street in bare feet.

First Haircut and First Sucker!

We took Banick to get his very first haircut. (He was kinda growing a mullet!) It was hard for me to cut his baby hair, because I knew it would make him look more like a little boy, and less like a baby...which it definately did. But he looks so handsome now! We love to give him a little MoHawk. They put him in a car, and let him watch a movie which he laughed at. They gave him his very first sucker, and he couldn't get enough of that thing! He was a sticky disaster. Hair and sticky don't mix at all!

We went to the Gateway to play in the fountains with our friends Susanne and Joy.
Banick thought it was very funny when the water would hit him in the face! But most of all he just wanted to escape and go play in the street. He has some strange obsession with the street. Anywhere we go, he wants to be in the street!! He is constantly running his Mama crazy. But we had a blast!

Baby proofing is impossible. Just when I think we have done a pretty good job, he is into something else!
Today he knocked the fireplace cover thing over on his head. He didnt seem to mind that at all.
Then about 10 min. later he pulled the entire tall lampstand over on the ground. It had a bowl at the top that went around the light bulb. Yeah it was glass. EVERYWHERE!
Luckly it didnt touch him at all, but when I grabbed my mouth and gasped, he looked at me and bawled. Sweet crazy monkey boy of mine.

February 17th, 2009--This Baby is full-on Crawling!! How fast that happened!! One second he hated to be on his stomach at all, the next he is scooting around, and now he is completely moving all over the room. And he pulls himself up to stand with every thing in site! We put bumper pads on the fireplace because he is a crazy man! Ahhhh, are we in for a ride! Now if we could just wear him out enough so that he'll finally sleep THROUGH THE NIGHT!!!

Ok, so this baby is running me ragged! I barely can keep up with him, let alone keep up on a blog! But here is a few pics from the last couple months... to catch up.

His 1st Christmas was so fun! He loved it. Christmas night and the week following was not so fun at all. Banick had to go to the ER at 2am and rode in his first (and my first) ambulance ride up to Primary Childrens. He had to have surgery for intussuseption. :( Poor little boy. It was very hard to not be able to tell him why all this torture was happening to him. But he is doing much, much better now. And growing like a weed!

BANICK is so sweet. He is almost sitting
on his own now. But still toppalls over if we are not right there to catch him. He is getting so so close to rolling over now. His little arm just always gets in the way! He loves to jump, and says crazy syllables, and pulls everyones hair and has to touch their faces! (he loves Daddy's scruf--it makes him giggle!) He never ever stops moving/wiggling, kicking his legs, hitting with his arms. Definately a wild one. We just adore him! Kisses Teeny Tiny!

We dedicated Banick to the Lord on Sunday. We are honored that the Lord trusts us enough to be parents of Banick, and we know that God is taking care of him and loving him. Aaron's mom Trish came down from Hurricane, Ut. And Aaron's Dad Les, Step-mom Zeny, and sister Liezl made it from Vernal, Ut. It turned out to be a really great day!!

Banick is 2 months old today! He is growing so fast!

All his wrinkles are filling out, his cheeks are getting chubbier and he is smiling and laughing a ton! He is one happy boy! He is also starting to get more and more restless when he is awake. He wants to get up and move already! ( I think we are in trouble...)

So when I had my surgery, I couldn't lift Banick or carry him for about a day. So Aaron had to take care of him all thru the night! He did such a good job and was incredibly exhasted afterwards. He said to me, "I don't know how you do that every night!" I just said "You just do it with Love!"
But sometime during the day, Aaron changed his diaper, (yes, he even does that!), and he said it was really messy. Then ten minutes later he had to change him again, because he went again! But this time when he took his diaper off, Banick pottied straight up and everywhere! it almost hit the wall, Aaron said!
Ahh, the joy of boys! He hasn't hit his mommy with that trick yet, but he has no problems tooting in a Lady's presence! He-He-He!!

I went to view the professional photographs that we had done when Banick was just eight days old. They turned out absolutely perfect! I had to chose between about a hundred different ones. It was incredibly hard. I wanted them all!
He really has grown since then. I didn't really realize how much because he is just still so tiny. But in those photos he has layers and layers of wrinkley skin! On his back, his hands, his legs...and now all those wrinkles are pretty much filled out!
The Announcement should be done in about two weeks. It is adorable and well worth the wait!

Kick the Daddy

Daddy Aaron has invented two games to play with Banick. "Kick the Daddy", and "Running".
In "Kick the Daddy" Aaron uses Banick's tiny feet to well,...Kick the Daddy! Banick laughs at him!! Really! It's so sweet!
In "Running", Aaron uses Banick's arms to make it look like he's running. Intense, I know. He loves that one too.
His attention span is as short as his arms and legs, but it is so fun to watch Baby and his best friend play together.
He is smiling a lot more every day, and he knows his Mommy and Daddy just love him to pieces.

Our beautiful first son is finally here! We have been so blessed! He is a perfect 10! (fingers and toes, that is!) He has guite a bit of hair on that little head of his, and it is a reddish-blond color!
His eyes are blue (so far), his nose is teeny, and his fingers are long--so everyone tells us!

I have never experienced a love like I feel for this little bundle. From the moment they laid him on my stomach all gooey, and cone headed-and I held on to his skinny little leg to keep him close, I knew I would never stop loving this beautiful creation that God gave me. Made inside of me. Was and is part of me.

Aaron cut the cord, they cleaned him up, and handed him into my open heart. We both cried, and I couldn't believe I was a mommy. The labor was "laborious", painful, exhausting, etc. The days after were nothing I could have ever prepared myself for in trials. But none of that matters now, and I would do it all again, just to hold the darling angel in my arms, and have him look at me with those big, innocent, totally dependant eyes.

Some of my favorite memories of Banick's birthday are- my water breaking on the couch at 5:30 in the morning, and me running into the bedroom to tell Aaron "it's time!". My mom, dad, and Aaron's mom being there supporting. Aaron praying the sweetest prayer for me right before I was about to push. Me having to hold my own legs up while my arms and hands were completely dead numb. And holding Banick's naked little body up to my heart to feel it's beat for him.

We love you Baby Boy. Can't wait to spend life with you.
